Bretton Woods Institutions

I don't pretend to have a magic formula to get us out of poverty but I see many areas where we can improve and better ourselves. First of all, the Bretton Woods institutions are not doing it for Africans. Thank you World Bank, the IMF , but no thanks. We don't need you. Those institutions created nothing but troubles in Africa.
Just as an example out of so many, the World Bank funded and built a dam in a remote village in a central African country, Chad. It is a beautiful dam with all these brand new state of the art machines , motors ,you name it. The dam was supposed to bring electricity to the village and develop local economies that needed electricity as a booster. But the dam never worked. Not because there was something wrong with it. Oh no! the dam could have worked perfectly well if somebody decided to pick up the electricity bill ! So here you have a dam ready to work but nobody is willing to pay the bill to make it operational. The World Bank said it is out of their hands and the local government can't afford it.
I truly think that theses institutions do not care about nothing but their own interest. Who can blame them right? From the beginning ,theses financial institutions agenda and Africans agenda never agreed. We want to come out of poverty but the want to keep us down. All African countries should stop listening to them and implement their own agenda. Name one country the World Bank took out of poverty. None! That's my whole point. These people never did and never will help us out of poverty. We need to help ourselves.
We ,the African youth ,need to take matters in our own hands. It is up to us that our continent becomes developed. Let's create our own banks, our own financial institution. Let's have our own money. Let's set the financial goals that will benefit us and only us. Let's think about our future , our kids and build them a better Africa. Let's take the institution of Bretton Woods out of Africa.

MY FIRST POST

My greatest dream is to see Africa out of poverty. This is a shout out to African youth. We need to step up to the table and start doing something about it. We are not tomorrow's africa , we are today's. We need to stop blaming the whole world for our misery and work hard so that our children m our grand children will live in a poverty free Africa.
